get to know me

Hello! I'm Rose and welcome to another corner of my website! I'm 21 years old and I've been learning to code html and css for about three years now, but I'm not very good (LOL). I study Honors English and Political Science at University of Washington where I'm pursuing my BA - I'm hoping to go to do my MA in the UK, which is where my family is from! I have a passion for political theory (like Hannah Arendt) and post-modern literature (like Kurt Vonnegut!), and I really enjoy taking English critical theory courses. Eventually, I'd like to go to attend law school and professionally engage with these things that make me so excited. Absolutely no corporate lawyer aspirations here.

My hobbies include creative non-fiction writing, poetry, sketching, html (obviously), and acting. Within my writing, I am deeply inspired by Sedaris, Didion, and Vonnegut. I've been in over 15 different stage productions - my favorites include Blithe Spirit (as Ruth), Romeo and Juliet (as Juliet), Frankenstein (as Elizabeth Lavenza), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (as Puck)! I'm also a certified cinephile; my top four movies are Withnail and I (1987), The Night of the Hunter (1955), The Italian Job (1969), and This Is Spinal Tap (1984). I have over 1400 movies watched on Letterboxd, along with 270+ reviews! Phew!
